Q: What are we talking about here?
A: This post refers to the yellow/green Free Farm Cash Video Ad-bars that show up from time to time at the bottom of your game window. Three iterations displayed below.
Q: Okay so what about these Ad-bars?
A: If you ever see these Ad-bars pop-up, all you have to do is right-click on them and copy the LINK address. Please note this is the LINK url and not the IMAGE url. Create a new bookmark in your browser and insert the copied url.
Q: What is the advantage of creating a shortcut/bookmark if the game already displays the Ad-bar for me?
A: The bookmark will allow you to summon the Ad-bar as and when you wish rather than waiting for the game to display it for you. The Ad-bar for the most part will display actual advertisements but it also displays the Free Farm Cash Videos from time to time.
The bookmarked link works independently of the game and you don’t have to be logged into Facebook or even be playing Farmville to watch the Ads (if/when they are available) and earn Farmcash.
Lastly, you may also wish to share your personal bookmark with your friends and family. This way they can watch Ads for you and you can watch Ads for them if necessary — helps if you have different schedules or are in different time zones.
Q: Okay, I am interested, tell me more about this Link url?
A: The image below illustrates a sample LINK url. Relax, the hashes have been shuffled so that they actually don’t point back to a specific user or entity. As you notice, that big long URL can be broken in various parts. Obviously the network_user_id is the most important nugget. One could insert their hashed network_user_id (if known) into the link below and create their own Free Video url.
Q: I have never seen these Ad-Bars under my game window. How do I find my network_user_id?
Now this is the tricky part. Zynga is pretty elusive about what they are doing to obtain that hash but looking at the output bit size I was able to deduce that it is closely related to the SHA256 cryptographic hash function.
Example: 10 digit Facebook ID: 9*2342*391
Resulting SHA256 Hash: 5B09369749B5240D619E70883C4C89030708917C1B2F5F81E2DC1094C451FFF9
Typical network_User_id: 91c3c65eb223b89acs7fd791c3c65eb223bacfd72051857ee91c3c65eb223bacfd7f
Your Facebook User ID is being hashed into the network_user_id, but I simply cannot figure out what salt values or private keys are being utilized (and I have no intention of sitting here and brute forcing these checksums). So at this point, if you have NEVER seen the Ad-Bars you might be out of luck temporarily.
The link and sources feeding into the flash plugin also do not yield any active leads as they simply use the raw Facebook ID and an Authorization Hash. Anyhow, I hope this points at least some of us in the right direction and allows us to summon the Ad-Bars more often.
Q: What is the best time to watch the Free Farm Cash Videos?
My personal favorite time has been between 3:05 to 3:45 a.m. Eastern Time (12:05 to 12:45 a.m. Pacific). The Ads are visible throughout the day (in 2’s and 3’s), but the motherload is unleashed when the day begins for Zynga. As mentioned in another thread I get to see between 11 and 22 Ads each night. I also happen to have some slow nights where I get only 3 Ads. Good luck and let me know if you have any questions
